Malayalam film Djibouti, which has Amith Chakalakkal, Jacob Gregory and Dileesh Pothan in lead roles, will be release on Amazon Prime Video soon. The news was revealed by Amith through his social media page on Saturday.

The survival thriller, which was shot in Kerala and the East African country Djibouti, marked the feature film debut of Uppum Mulakum director SJ Sinu. The movie was also the first Malayalam film to be shot in Djibouti and released in the country.

The movie, which also has Shagun Jaiswal, Kishore, Anjali Nair and Sminu Sijo, had released in theatres on December 31. It revolves around two youngsters Louis and Aby, who harbour dreams of going abroad for work. After they meet an HR officer of a company based in Djibouti and becomes friends with her, she offers them both jobs in the country. However, once they reach Djibouti, they have to face a series of challenges. Will they both escape the country and reach India unhurt forms the rest of the plot of the survival drama.

Apart from Malayalam, the movie was dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and French. The movie is also expected to stream in these languages when it releases on Amazon Prime Video. The team is yet to confirm the date of release.

Meanwhile, Amith and Sinu had recently wrapped up shooting for their second collaboration together titled Theru. The movie, which is a family thriller, touches upon the harassment youth face from the police and authorities.

Amith, Baburaj, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Vijaraghavan, Sreejith Ravi and Prashanth Alexander play the pivotal roles in the movie, which went on floors in Palakkad last year. “The movie revolves around an issue that every youngster in Kerala faces when they are on the road,” Amith had earlier told OTTplay.
