Anand Deverakonda, Abhishek Banerjee's thriller flick Highway to release directly on THIS digital platform

It was announced a while ago that Bollywood actor Abhishek Banerjee, who shot to fame with projects like Mirzapur and Paatal Lok, is making his Telugu debut. Titled Highway, the movie has lensman-turned-filmmaker KV Guhan at its helm. Manasa plays the female lead in the movie which has Anand Deverakonda playing the lead.

The makers have now revealed that the film, which is billed as a psychological thriller, will have a direct release on aha. They have also unveiled a mysterious poster of the project without any actors featuring on it. 

Simon K King has composed music for the movie which has been bankrolled by Venkat Talari. An official announcement on Highway's release date is expected to happen soon.  According to makers, the film revolves around Vishnu (Anand Devarakonda), a photographer who falls in love with Tulasi (Manasa).

The couple's life turns upside down when a serial killer named D kidnaps the girl. Can Vishnu save his ladylove amid various unexpected challenges he faces from several quarters? 

Highway marks Guhan's third project in Telugu and second direct OTT release. Having made his directorial debut in Tollywood with Kalyan Ram's 118 in 2019, he went on to make WWW last year which was dropped directly on SonyLIV. 

The movie will be Anand Deverakonda's fourth release and first outing this year; this is also his first direct OTT release. He was last seen in Damodara's Pushpaka Vimanam. The young actor currently has Baby and Gam Gam Ganesha. Abhishek Banerjee, on the other hand, is making his south debut with the project. Last seen in Taapsee-starrer Rashmi Rocket, he has Bhediya and Dostana 2 in his kitty.
