And it's official! Vijay, Pooja Hegde starrer action flick Beast to hit the screens on April 13

Nelson Dilipkumar's Beast is currently the most-awaited Tamil film among movie lovers. Though its makers haven't revealed the release date till yesterday, it was more or less expected to hit the screens on April 13. The team's initial plan was to release the movie on April 14, but later they decided to arrive a day earlier to avoid clash with KGF 2.

Sun Pictures, which is bankrolling the big budget action project, had unveiled two singles, Arabic Kuthu and Jolly O Gymkhana from the film, recently. It is heard that they will be releasing the teaser of the Vijay-starrer later this month.

The team has now officially announced that the movie is releasing in theatres on April 13. They have released a new poster of the movie as well. Fans of the star are now looking forward to updates regarding the release of other songs in the movie. The much-awaited announcement on its release date has brought cheer to Vijay fans. 

Meanwhile, Beast is said to have completed its censor formalities. Beast has acquired a U/A certificate, and its run time is 155 minutes. The censor copy of the film has been doing the rounds on social media ever since someone leaked it on Twitter. The recent films of Vijay like Master, Bigil and Mersal among others had a run time of more than 170 minutes. Movie buffs feel that 155 minutes would be appropriate enough to hold the interest of viewers.

Atlee's Theri was the last movie of Vijay which had a summer release. Beast has Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Aparna Das, Redin Kingsley and Shine Tom Chacko among others playing pivotal roles in it.

Anirudh Ravichander has composed songs for the project which has cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and dance choreography by Jani. Nirmal and Anbariv have handled editing and stunt direction respectively for Beast.
