Andondittu Kaala, Vinay Rajkumar’s much-delayed film, which was announced way back in 2021, made it to theatres only at the end of August 2025. A romantic drama set in the 90s, Andondittu Kaala marked the directorial debut of Keerthi Krishnappa and was Vinay’s first release of the year, after 2024’s Pepe. Vinay was paired with Aditi Prabhudeva, while the film also starred Nisha Ravikrishnan, Aruna Balraj and Kaddipudi Chandru, with Crazy Star V Ravichandran in a pivotal cameo.
Vinay played Kumara, a village boy from Hagalavadi, who loves movies and dreams of becoming a director. Andondittu Kaala tells the story of his childhood, the struggles he faces, and the support that helps him follow his dream. The film got a very limited theatrical outing and wound up its run within days, following middling reviews.
Andondittu Kaala has, however, managed an OTT streaming deal and will be available shortly. The film has been picked up by Amazon Prime Video, with the platform fixing October 17, 2025 for its streaming premiere. The film can also be accessed via OTTplay Premium with an add on subscription.

Digital streaming rights have not been easy to come by for Kannada movies for a while, and more so this year. In fact, Vinay’s brother Yuva Rajkumar’s much-hyped Ekka, which released in July is yet to find an OTT partner, although there was a lot of speculation about possible deals.
Andondittu Kaala joins the likes of Gowrishankar, Doora Theera Yaana, Kapata Nataka Sutradhari, Hebbuli Cut, X&Y, Maatonda Heluve, Vidyapati, Hiranya, Rakshasa and Gana as 2025 films on the platform. While several are on exclusive deals with the streamer, a few, like Vidyapati and Maatonda Heluve, for instance, are available on other platforms too.
