Anel Meley Pani Thuli trailer: Andrea Jeremiah plays a rape survivor who questions regressive societal norms

The makers of Anel Meley Pani Thuli had announced the other day that the movie will have its direct OTT release on November 18. They have now unveiled its two-minute trailer which offers a sneak peek into its plot. Going by the promo video, the R Kaiser Anand directorial is the hard-hitting tale of a young woman who survives a gang rape.

Andrea Jeremiah plays the lead in the movie which has been produced by leading filmmaker Vetri Maaran. The actress plays a woman who goes through various mental trauma, thanks to the judgmental society she lives in and the regressive people in her life.

How she boldly faces all the hurdles with the help of her husband forms the rest of the story. One of the highlights of the film is expected to be the manner in which the investigation of the crime unfolds. Azhagam Perumal, Anupama Kumar, Aadhav Kannadhasan, Ilavarasu and Lovelyn Chandrasekhar essay key roles in the project.

Another USP of the movie seems to be its progressive dialogues. 'My honour has nothing to do with my body or the clothes I wear, it's all about how I live my life' is one such inspiring dialogue.

Santhosh Narayanan has composed music for Anel Meley Pani Thuli which has cinematography by Velraj and editing handled by Raja Mohammed. Stunt Silva and Viji Satish have choreographed action scenes and dance moves respectively. MR Karthik Rajkumar has helmed art direction for the film.

This is the second collaboration of Vetri Maaran and Andrea after Vada Chennai which was released in 2018. The gangster movie set in north Chennai had the former as its director, while the latter played a significant character in it.
