After Kamal Haasan, who showered praise on Mani Ratnam's latest release Ponniyin Selvan 2, here is another veteran who is going gaga over the period drama. Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor seems to have been smitten by the multi-starrer's making and performances in it.

He has taken to his Twitter page to express excitement over watching the film and has shared a few pics with Mani and Suhasini from the theatre where he watched it. He has termed it as an "exhilarating experience" and went on to say that the gripping drama, enchanting music and epic scale hooked him from the very start.

According to him, AR Rahman's music lifted the film to an epic level and cinematographer Ravi Varman's visuals is its highlight. Eka Lakhani, he said, has killed it with costumes. He further posted, "I am privileged and honoured to be a part of #PS2 in a small way …Congratulations to Mani Ratnam and the entire team for gifting Indian cinema with a real gem (sic)."

He had lent voice over for the trailer of Ponniyin Selvan 1 which was released last year. Quite impressed with Vikram and Aishwarya Rai's performance, Anil said that the former is fantastic while the latter, he felt, is brilliant in a difficult role.

An elated Vikram replied to his tweet, "Thank you Mr Kapoor. Coming from a stalwart like you means a lot. You so easily made my month (sic)." Anil's comment on Vikram and Aishwarya doesn't come as a surprise as most of the movie buffs went gaga over the two actors' performances.

Film lovers are now curious to know which veteran is going to go gaga over the Mani Ratnam movie next. Meanwhile, Ponniyin Selvan 2 has grossed 200 crores yesterday.
