Actor Anil Kapoor believes that one of the main charms or highlights of his upcoming film Animal is its cast. From his own inclusion to play Ranbir Kapoor's father in the film to roping in actors like Rashmika Mandanna, Shakti Kapoor, Suresh Oberoi, Prem Chopra and others, the veteran actor believes that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga showed a lot of astuteness in putting the Animal ensemble together.

"It's a very ageist kind of society. There are such great actors in our industry but they are a little senior. Sandeep (Reddy Vanga) is sensitive enough to understand that if they suit (the role), I will cast them. That's why the film looks so fresh," said Anil Kapoor at a recent media interaction in Hyderabad.

But the casting of Bobby Deol in the film takes the cake for the Mr. India actor, who sang high praise for the director for his eclectic choices. "The masterstroke was casting Bobby (Deol)," he said in his usual demeanour.

Bobby Deol, of course, will be seen playing a mighty important role in Animal and though there isn't much disclosed about his character, one gathers that he will most likely be seen in the role of the film's chief antagonist. One has come across reports of Deol not having any dialogues or lines to mouth in the film and that he will portray a mute character in the upcoming action drama.

In the same vein, Anil Kapoor spoke at length about the palpable 'connection' that one feels between his and Ranbir Kapoor's characters in the film. Touching upon the fact that he has closely known Ranbir's family for a very long time and vice versa, Anil Kapoor revealed that he entered the project on the back of a defined sense of comfort.

"Hats off to Sandeep because the casting of a film is a crucial part. The way he has cast Ranbir as the protagonist, the 'Animal, and me as his father, you feel there's some connect there, which also makes things very, very real," said the 66-year-old actor.

Animal is set to arrive in theatres on December 1 and the entire team is currently busy promoting the film across India. Very recently, Mahesh Babu and director S.S. Rajamouli attended the film's pre-release event in Hyderabad.
