Ranbir Kapoor's film, Animal, is unstoppable at the box office! Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the movie hit the silver screen on December 1, 2023. Although Animal clashed with Sam Bahadur, the film is doing exceptionally well. Until day 8, the Ranbir Kapoor-Rashmika Mandanna starrer minted around ₹360 crore. And now, Animal is close to crossing ₹400 crore at the domestic box office.

The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has emerged as one of the highest-grossing movies of 2023. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Animal minted approximately ₹37 crore on day 9 at the box office. Taking that into consideration, Ranbir Kapoor's film now stands at ₹398.63 crore in India.

As far as the film's worldwide collection is concerned, Animal entered the ₹600 crore club globally. The movie shattered Ranbir's 2018 film Sanju's lifetime worldwide collection record. For those who are unaware, Sanju's lifetime global box office collection is ₹586.85 crore.

About the film and its sequel

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal's sequel will be made. Tentatively titled Animal Park, the film will feature Ranbir Kapoor in a double role. On the other hand, Triptii Dimri is likely to have more screen time in the sequel. She essayed the role of Zoya in Vanga's movie.

As for Rashmika Mandanna, she was seen as Geetanjali in the film. On the other hand, Anil Kapoor played Ranbir's father whereas Bobby Deol was seen as the main antagonist.

Animal gets polarising reactions

As far as Animal is concerned, the movie opened to polarising reactions from the audiences as well as critics. Despite that, the Ranbir-Rashmika film has set the cash register ringing. While Ranbir is being lauded for his performance, Triptii has risen to fame and became a national crush after Animal's theatrical release.
