Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal has turned out to be a blockbuster hit of 2023. Although the film is a box office hit, it invited a lot of criticism. People called out the Ranbir Kapoor starrer for misogyny and toxic masculinity. However, Sandeep believes 'misogyny' is the wrong word to be used for Animal and his previous film Kabir Singh. In an interview, the filmmaker reacted to the allegations of misogyny.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga on allegations of misogyny for Animal

Speaking with Galatta Plus, Sandeep Reddy Vanga said the actual definition of misogyny is the disrespect for women. However, he doesn't find the word appropriate for Kabir Singh and Animal.

"So, no. Even Kabir Singh, even Animal, even me as a person… I always feel my production company’s name is Bhadrakali Productions, I don’t know why people feel I disrespect (women). Not people, just these 15-20 jokers. It’s the wrong word to use (to describe) Kabir Singh and Animal," he told the entertainment portal.
