In a press meet held in Chennai, Ranbir Kapoor elaborated on how he prepared for his dark and violent character in ‘Animal’. He said, “You have to switch off your (personal) character. You can’t take your character and emotions home. That’s your skill as an actor and a professional.”

Soon after Ranbir Kapoor made this comment, social media users began comparing him with Ranveer Singh. While many of them found the comparison between the two unnecessary, some of them felt that Ranveer Singh should learn acting from Ranbir Kapoor.

A few years ago, Ranveer Singh shared how he prepared for his character Khilji portrayed in Padmaavat. Ranveer in 2018 told the Indian Express, “I took 21 days and locked myself up in my Goregaon house. I was completely isolated. I kind of isolated myself, marinated into the character because I can’t relate to Alaudin Khilji, I can’t relate to that level of manipulativeness, greed and ambition. I had to tap into dark experiences, but his worldview is not something I can relate to also.”
