Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently revealed that his 7-year-old saw the edited version of his movie Animal. Here's how the little one reacted after watching the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2023. The film minted over Rs 800 crore at the worldwide box office. Despite polarising reactions, Animal shattered several BO records. A lot of people found Vanga's film to be misogynistic. However, the filmmaker's family had a different take on it. In an interview, Sandeep revealed that his wife felt there was a lot of bloodshed in the movie but didn't find it to be misogynistic. The director also shared his 7-year-old son's reaction.
For the uninitiated, Sandeep Reddy Vanga's animal was given an A certificate by the CBFC. Hence, when the filmmaker wanted to show his movie to his 7-year-old son, Sandeep chopped all those A-rated scenes from the film. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Sandeep revealed his team made a hard disk of the scenes that could not be shown.
A different edit of Animal was shown in Sandeep's film to find out how he reacted to the movie. "He saw the film but I have chopped all those A-rated scenes He was saying that the underwear action scene was very funny," revealed Sandeep.
Meanwhile, Animal Park is expected to go floors in 2025. As of now, the film is in the writing stage. The writers are busy working on a plot idea that Sandeep has provided them. According to Mid-Day, the sequel's fundamental framework was ready at the time Sandeep's Animal was being written.
While Animal Park is in the writing stage, Sandeep will be busy working on Spirit, starring Prabhas, over the next few months. It is only in the second half of 2024 that the filmmaker will actively collaborate with the writers on Animal Park.
Meanwhile, Animal lead actor Ranbir has other movies like Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, and Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra 2 and 3.
