Ranbir Kapoor's Animal is off to an incredible start worldwide. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga film made history when it became the biggest opener for a Hindi film not during the non-holidays when it opened in theaters on December 1. On its first day at the box office worldwide, Animal has made ₹116 crore.
The makers of the film announced on social media that Animal had made ₹116 crore on its first day of release. This validates the initial predictions that suggested Ranbir Kapoor's crime drama would debut at an astounding ₹100 crore globally. Sharing the official numbers, the makers of the film wrote, "He has come to conquer all the records 🤙🏼🔥🪓 #AnimalHuntBegins"
Animal has become Ranbir Kapoor's highest-grossing film of his career, taking in a total of Rs 61 crores domestically and 116 globally. Additionally, Animal outperformed mega-blockbusters like Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 and Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan in terms of first-day sales. The first day's revenue for SRK and Deepika's spy thriller was Rs 57 crores. Gadar 2, an action drama starring Sunny Deol, made Rs 41 crores on its first day of sales.

It is also to be noted that Animal clashed at the box office with Vicky Kaushal starrer Sam Bahadur. The film, directed by Meghna Gulzar also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra.
An excerpt from the Animal review of OTTplay stated, "Ranbir Kapoor is as shiny as his long black hair in the film, with only excessive violence overshadowing the compelling narrative, which was the initial promise of the film."

Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor play key parts in Animal as well. In the movie, Ranbir plays the envious and violent son of Anil Kapoor. The film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga released in theatres on December 1. This is Vanga's second Hindi film project after his blockbuster film, Kabir Singh, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani.
