Anirudh Ravichander updates on Vijay’s Jana Nayagan: I think shooting is over, it will be full of power

Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay, is touted to be the actor’s final film before he gears up for the 2026 state elections in Tamil Nadu. The makers had pushed the film’s release from October this year to January 2026. Directed by H Vinoth, the film will mark yet another collaboration between Vijay and composer Anirudh Ravichander. At the Madharaasi audio and trailer launch event, the musician spoke about Jana Nayagan album.

Jana Nayagan: Anirudh Ravichander talks about Vijay’s project

Anirudh Ravichander, whose latest release was the Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie, is having his next release in a few days. It will be Madharaasi starring Sivakarthikeyan. At the audio and trailer launch event of the film, he was quizzed by the media about working in Vijay’s Jana Nayagan.

Speaking at the red carpet of Madharaasi event, Anirudh was asked about Jana Nayagan, to which he replied, "It is coming out well. I think the shooting is over and after Madharaasi, the next I will be working on is Jana Nayagan for January. It will be full of power." He also added, “In Vijay sir's combo, my songs have always worked out. Beyond the songs, he will bring a presence to onscreen which makes it apart. We are going to miss him.”

Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, is scheduled to release in theatres on January 9, 2026 for the occasion of Pongal. The film is said to be a remake of Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari. Starring Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Priyamani, Gautham Menon and others. Jana Nayagan has music by Anirudh Ravichander with Hanumankind expected to perform a rap song.

Jana Nayagan is expected to be Vijay’s final film and comes right a few months before his party will be contesting in the state elections 2026.
