Ankush’s Shikarpur and Oindrila Sen’s Shwetkali to get a season 2

Last year in December, Zee5 announced their restructured slate with a number of brand new web shows. In 2023, it began its journey with Nirjhar Mitra’s Shikarpur with Ankush and Kaushik Ganguly in the lead. Later, in February, Zee5 dropped another series, Sani Ghosh Ray’s Shwetkali with Oindrila Sen, Sourav Chakraborty, and Shaheb Bhattacherjee was released. Both these shows received positive reviews from viewers and critics alike. Now the channel initiated preliminary conversations to get a second season.

According to an official from Zee5, it will take a long time to get the final approval. “There is a public demand for season 2 for both shows. And due to the demand, we started the conversation. Meanwhile, there is a merger deal between Sony and Zee set to take place soon. That involves a lot of changes. So nothing has been finalised yet,” they said.

Shikarpur delves into the life of Keshto (Ankush) in a small town, Shikarpur, in North Bengal. It is his investigation of a series of ghost attacks that finally leads him to a bigger truth. Kaushik Guly’s p; powerful performance and strong direction make it an engaging watch. The series is dotted with comic moments and with this show, Ankush debuts in the world of OTT. 

Meanwhile, Oindrila Sen debuted in web series with Shwetkali. This show is based on an old mansion and its buried truth. Oindrila’s character unveils the mystery of her boyfriend’s business family.
