Dhananjaya's fans were presented with a 'full psych' treat on his birthday on August 22 as the first glimpse of his character from Uttarakaanda made its way out. The actor plays Gabru Sathya, an animated local gangster full of quirks and capers up his sleeve at all times. The same 'teajer' also promises to be only the tip of the iceberg considering Uttarakaanda will be a two-part film boasting many exciting names as part of its cast, including Sandalwood Queen Ramya.

But that isn't the only major announcement that emerged on Daali's birthday. Right at the stroke of midnight, August 23, it was revealed that Dhananjaya will reunite with his Badava Rascal director, Shankar Guru, for a new film titled Anna From Mexico. As the quirky title suggests, the film produced by Sathya Rayala is a 'pukka' action entertainer which will be laced with both humour and emotions. The makers also reveal that the crux of the story will feature a grandmother-grandson relationship, but they are yet to disclose the rest of the cast of the film.

What we do know is that Vasuki Vaibhav, one of Dhananjaya's main collaborators has been roped in to score the music of Anna From Mexico. Vasuki Vaibhav also composed the soundtrack of Badava Rascal and the songs from the 2021 film, especially Udupi Hotelu and Aagaga Nenapaguthale, were big hits.

The singer-composer is also scoring the music for Dhananjaya's next production (under Daali Pictures) Tagaru Palya and the team recently offered a taste of what to expect with the first single, the title track.

As far as Anna From Mexico is concerned, the first-look poster deliberately hides Dhananjaya's face but reveals the snazzy 'retro' suit he wears and also the chunky gold jewellery he owns, including the huge Karnataka-map-shaped locket! The film, the makers share, will go on floors in November 2023 and will be shot in Mexico and several other locations.
