The team of Siva's Annaatthe, starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, had earlier announced that they will come up with a first look and motion poster of the film on September 10, at 11am and 6pm respectively, on the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi. The first look which was released in the morning had Thalaivar dressed in a white shirt and a veshti, oozing swag.

The makers then posted a couple of posts on Twitter which provided glimpses of the motion poster to be released later in the day. Needless to say, fans got excited and couldn't contain their excitement till the evening.

The motion poster, which has a duration of one minute and fourteen seconds, begins with Rajini's voiceover in his trademark style, followed by a car which explodes on a bridge even as he rides a bullet bike wearing a helmet, with earphones plugged in and a sickle in his left hand. The bike he rides carries a West Bengal registration number plate, denoting that a crucial portion of the film is set against the backdrop of Bengal. Interestingly, the motion poster reminds us of the interval sequence in the director's previous outing, Viswasam, in which Ajith was seen taking down the baddies. Siva's Vedalam had a few portions shot in West Bengal as well.

The poster confirms once for all that Annaatthe is hitting the screens on Deepavali. It is yet to be seen if the film will have a clash with Ajith's Valimai. Annaatthe, which has a stellar cast, including the likes of Khushbu, Meena, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj, Soori, Jagapathi Babu, Abimanyu Singh and Sathish among others, has cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy. Imman has scored music for the film which has editing by Ruben. Dhilip Subbarayan has choreographed action scenes for the movie, the teaser and trailer of which, is expected to release soon.
