After various speculations and unexpected twists, it is almost confirmed that Rajinikanth-starrer Annaatthe directed by Siva and Vishal-Arya-starrer Enemy directed by Anand Shankar, are the two films which will compete with each other at the box office for this Deepavali season. Silambarasan's Maanaadu which was announced as a theatrical release for the festival opted out a week ago as the makers felt a solo release would be better for the film's business.

The political thriller will hit the screens on November 25. Arun Vijay-starrer, Vaa Deal, directed by Rathina Siva, which has been lying in the cans for a long time, is also expected to release in movie halls on the occasion, on November 4. However, all eyes are on Annaatthe and Enemy, a family drama and an action thriller respectively.

Both the films have earned U/A certificate after their censor process. We have now got to know the run time of the two movies. Annaatthe has a run time of 163 minutes, with 1 hour and 23 minutes in the first half and 1 hour and 20 minutes in the second half. Enemy, on the other hand, has a run time of 160 minutes.

Annaatthe, the release of which was announced earlier this year, features Nayanthara, Meena, Khushbu, Keerthy Suresh, Jagapathi Babu, Abhimanyu Singh, Soori and Sathish among others in key roles. Enemy has Mamta Mohandas, Prakash Raj, Mirnalini Ravi, Thambi Ramaiah and Karunakaran playing pivotal roles.

The teaser of Annaatthe was released a week ago, while the teaser of Enemy was unveiled a few months ago. The latter was initially supposed to hit the screens for Dussehra, on October 14, along with Aranmanai 3. The announcement of more projects on the festival made the makers postpone the release to Deepavali.
