Vijay Sethupathi has three films lined up this month, and Annabelle Sethupathi, which will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from September 17, will be one among them. The makers of the film, directed by debutant Deepak Sundarrajan, had released a trailer from the film recently, which hinted at its genre. Billed as a horror-comedy, the movie's story takes place in a palatial bungalow in two periods. Going by the trailer, the film's plot revolves around a few ghosts and a joint family. What happens when the family members plan to loot valuable items from the luxurious palace makes for the twists and turns in the plot.

The team released a two-and-half minute sneak peek on Wednesday, providing a glimpse into the first scene between Sethupathi and Taapsee in it. Set in pre-independent era, the sequence begins with Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu waiting for a mechanic as their car need a major repair. Sethupathi, who is a king of a royal palace, goes to a coconut vendor to quench his thirst, while Yogi's character Shanmugham informs him that someone has come to repair the car. Sethupathi, who is seen wearing goggles and dressed in sherwani, looks surprised at Taapsee, seen as an English-speaking lady, repairing the vehicle. He gets instantly attracted to her charm and smartness. As she repairs the car and leaves in another vehicle, he keeps looking at her in awe. 

Radhika Sarathkumar, Rajendra Prasad, Jagapathi Babu, George Maryan and Vennela Kishore will also be seen essaying prominent roles in the film which will be released in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada, too. The Tamil version of Annabelle Sethupathi was released by Suriya. Goutham George has cranked the camera for the film which has editing by Pradeep E Ragav. Krishna Kishor has composed music and Dinesh Kasi has choreographed action sequences for the film.
