After sweeping leading awards at the Oscars, Anora has finally made its full-fledged OTT release in India. You can stream the Sean Baker film on JioHotstar. The filmmaker has written, directed, produced, and edited the comedy-drama, which was released in 2024. Anora "Ani" Mikheeva, played by Mikey Madison, is a New York stripper who gets married to Mark Eydelshteyn's rich son, the son of a Russian tycoon. Vache Tovmasyan, Darya Ekamasova, Karren Karagulian, Yura Borisov, and Aleksei Serebryakov are also part of the supporting ensemble.
Meeting and marrying the son of an oligarch on the spur of the moment gives Anora, a young woman from Brooklyn, her opportunity at a Cinderella narrative. Her parents leave for New York to get the marriage annulled once the news reaches Russia, threatening her fairytale.

Anora "Ani" Mikheeva is a dancer at the Headquarters club who charges a premium, and Mikey Madison plays her. A Russian oligarch's affluent son, Ivan "Vanya" Zakharov, is played by Mark Eydelshteyn (often anglicised as "Eidelstein").
After its world premiere on May 21, 2024, at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, Anora went on to win the Palme d'Or and get widespread praise. Neon released the film in theatres on October 18, 2024. Despite having a modest $6 million budget, the film became Baker's highest-grossing feature. It grossed $51.9 million worldwide.
With Baker, Madison, and Borisov garnering nods at each ceremony, the film was nominated for five Golden Globes, seven BAFTAs (including Best Actress and Best Casting), and six Oscars (including Best Picture). Anora became the fourth to win both the top prize at Cannes and five Oscars, including Best Picture. Baker is the first person to ever win all four Oscars for the same film, and he tied Walt Disney's record for most Oscars won in a single year.
Among the best films of 2024, Anora was chosen by both the American Film Institute and the National Board of Review. It made history at the 30th Critics' Choice Awards when it became the first film to win Best Picture without receiving any of the other five nominations.
