It was nominated for eight Oscars at the 97th ceremony, including Best Picture, and took home the trophy for Best Adapted Screenplay.
The epic space opera Dune: Part Two was helmed by Denis Villeneuve and co-written with Jon Spaihts. It is the second installment of a two-part adaptation of Frank Herbert's 1965 novel Dune and the sequel to Dune (2021). As Paul Atreides joins forces with the Fremen of the barren planet Arrakis to fight House Harkonnen, the story unfolds. French filmmaker Jacques Audiard wrote and directed the musical criminal comedy Emilia Pérez in Spanish. A portion of the 2018 French novel Écoute by Boris Razon served as inspiration for Audiard's opera libretto of the same name, which in turn was based on the work. With the assistance of a lawyer (Zoe Saldaña), the film chronicles the journey of a Mexican cartel boss (Karla Sofía Gascón) as she attempts to vanish and undergo a gender transition. The film also has cameo appearances by Adriana Paz, Mark Ivanir, Édgar Ramírez, and Selena Gomez.
Gascón became the first openly transgender woman to get Best Actress nominations at the 97th Academy Awards, while Saldana won Best Supporting Actress. Emilia Pérez had 13 nominations overall, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress.
The animated fantasy adventure film Flow was written and directed by Gints Zilbalodis and Matīss Kaža. Attempting to survive in a seemingly post-human world as the water level steadily rises around them, the film follows a cat, dog, capybara, secretarybird, and ring-tailed lemur without conversation.
The Latvian film made history by being the first animated feature to win an Oscar.
Produced and directed by Brady Corbet, The Brutalist is an epic period drama that he co-wrote with Mona Fastvold. Adrien Brody plays the role of a Holocaust survivor of Hungarian and Jewish descent who moves to America and faces obstacles in realising the American Dream until a rich customer makes a difference in his life. Alessandro Nivola, Raffey Cassidy, Stacy Martin, Emma Laird, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, and Felicity Jones are also part of the cast.

Her niece Molly O'Brien's documentary focuses on Orin's influence and how she feels pleasure in taking on a supporting role.
Director and writer Coralie Fargeat's The Substance is a chilling tale about the human body. The plot is on Elisabeth Sparkle, a declining star played by Demi Moore, who takes a street drug that produces an altered version of herself, played by Margaret Qualley, with unforeseen consequences after her producer fires her for being too old.
The 97th Academy Awards (including Best Picture) gave it five nominations apiece, and it took home the award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
Written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox, Wicked is a musical fantasy film that was directed by Jon M. Chu. In 2003, Stephen Schwartz and Holzman created a stage musical based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel, which was a retelling of the Oz books and the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. This work served as a loose inspiration for the musical script. Supporting characters include Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum, while Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande star as Elphaba Thropp and Galinda Upland, respectively. In this Oz story, which takes place in the Emerald City long before Dorothy Gale arrives from Kansas, we follow Elphaba as she becomes the Wicked Witch of the West and her friendship with Galinda, who later becomes Glinda the Good.
Not only did it win Best Costume Design and Best Production Design at the 97th Academy Awards, but it also got ten nominations, including Best Picture.
