Anubhav Singh Bassi faces trouble due to Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina

Stand-up comedian and actor Anubhav Singh Bassi's show Kisi Ko Batana Mat was all set to be held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on February 15 in Lucknow. However, things didn't work in his favor as the Uttar Pradesh Police denied permission over 'objectionable content' and 'threat from protestors'. According to the Hindustan Times, in a letter dated February 14, Uttar Pradesh State Women's Commission vice-chairperson Aparna Yadav asked the Director General of Police Prashant Kumar to cancel his show. The police didn't give the NOC citing security concerns as the reason. A team member from Ankur Bhargava founder of Oriole Entertainment told HT, "As part of India tour, our Agra show happened (Friday), and we are doing a show in Kanpur today. Yes, our both Lucknow show was cancelled, and we were told that there was a threat from protest group, so the permission has been denied."

The cancellations have taken place due to Ranveer and Samay's ongoing controversy. Multiple FIRs and cases have been filed against them.

Details about the letter

Uttar Pradesh State Women's Commission vice-chairperson Aparna Yadav posted the letter on her X account. She even posted a video in which she said, "His (Bassi’s) previous videos, that are available online, had objectional content. YouTube should ban such content; state government must ban such shows, and permission should be denied for such shows. Any content that is on women, mothers, sisters and family should be banned and not just Bassi or Ranveer Allahbadia but everyone who making such content should be banned, who are spoiling the younger."

Meanwhile, Samay recently broke his silence on the ongoing case and said that he has been cooperating with the agencies for a fair investigation. He even said in his statement that he had deleted the videos from his YouTube channel. A large section of people are supporting him while some are criticizing him for his distasteful comments.
