Anurager Chhowa’s Rupanjana Mitra gets gears up for a film

Rupanjana Mitra, who is a household name for her works on television, is all set to work on a film. The famous mother-in-law in Anurager Chhowa will work in a film that is based on the Kaliachak Murder Case. The infamous murder case that happened three years back in Malda still haunts many people's memory. Md Asif, a young man of 19, cold-bloodedly murdered four members of his family. Later, the cops discovered their decomposed bodies. The cops revealed that Asif was an expert hacker. He also did not show any remorse after the murder. This story of grisly murder is now coming to the big screen with a film named, Kaliachak: Chapter One.

The poster has been recently released on social media which irked curiosity. Why such a film? The producer Asim Aktar told the media, “The purpose is to make people more compassionate, loving and careful towards society and family. Also, people are scared of Kaliachak since they think it is the breeding ground of gangsters and illegal work. But we want to portray a different Kaliachak in this film.”

Rupanjana Mitra, Partha Sarathi, Debprasad Halder, Debapratim Dasgupta are acting in the film. The other actors hail from Malda. Asim said, “I decided to do a good project involving the local artistes.” Ratul Mukhopadhyay directs the film. Asim is acting as the protagonist Asif. 

Vicky Sinha is the composer and Tapas Sarkar and Sayantan are the lyricists. The teaser will come out on October 11.
