Aparajita came on Facebook Live and complained that the officials didn’t offer any permanent solution.
It was not just any other Durga Puja for actress Aparajita Adhya as she had to endure harassment right at the beginning of Puja — on Shashthi morning. She lost her cool and expressed her displeasure on Facebook Live. The transformer in her locality caught fire and the entire area saw a power cut for four hours. There was no water in Aparajita’s place. Aparajita said that this was not an isolated incident. It happened several times before. The actress said that they complained to the CESC many times but it did not bear any fruit.
Aparajita came on Facebook Live and said that there is a Panchanan temple opposite her house. There are two electric transformers beside the temple. It catches fire several times which causes a power cut. The electricians do some trivial work and go away.
Aparajita further added, “After requesting the CESC many times, they came. They usually repair it half-heartedly, and then the same problem starts again. Today, the fire started at around 6.30 am. The light post and the pandal are burnt. There are so many chords in the light post that it is in grave danger and prone to short circuits. No one bothers about it.”
The Jol Thoi Thoi Bhalobasha actress Aparajita went for a puja parikrama but got late due to that problem. She could not take a shower and give puja. “The pandal is dark, the area is dark, and there is no water. it happened three or four days back also while coloring the idol. They had to paint in candlelight,” she said.
Aparajita asked the local people to unite in protest and said that she would stand by their side. The actress also asked the media to notify the authorities about this issue.
