Aquaman 2 dubbed versions still not seen by Indian censor board; to not release with the English version – Details inside

In India, we are a day away from the release of Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, aka Aquaman 2. The film releases worldwide a day later, on December 22. However, a lot is going on around the movie even a day before its release. While the English version is passed by the censor board and is up for release tomorrow, the latest update about the movie is that the dubbed versions for the Indian audience are yet to be seen by the censor board, which means they will not release the English version. 

Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom releases in India in English tomorrow. The Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions of the film were earlier planned to be released along with the English one. But now it seems like the movie has hit another roadblock in India. As per the latest statement from the representatives of the film in India, Aquaman 2’s dubbed versions are yet to be seen by the censor board and that has made the same-day release impossible. 

As per the note, Aquaman 2’s Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions will now be released a day later, with the worldwide release on December 22, 2023. The note read, “The dubbed versions (Hindi, Tamil & Telugu) of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will not release on Thursday along with the English version. These will now release on Friday, December 22, as the Censor Board has not seen the dubbed versions yet.”

Meanwhile, Aquaman 2, aka Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, has been in the headlines for a lot of reasons. It was revealed in the morning that the only post-credit scene from the movie had been leaked on the internet. It reportedly features Patrick Wilson and Jason Momoa. Patrick, as Orm, can be seen eating a burger and he finds a cockroach nearby. He picks it up and eats it. It is said to be a nod to a sequence in the film.

Aquaman 2 stars Jason Momoa, Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen in pivotal roles. The movie is reportedly the last of the characters from the DCEU storyline we will get to see. Jason Momoa is reportedly being recast as Lobo after this.
