Delhiprasad Deenadayalan's Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Tughlaq Durbar is slated for a television premiere on September 10, followed by a release on Netflix the next day. The makers have released the lyric video of Arasiyal Kedi from the film on Monday. The peppy song, which has lyrics and music by and Govind Vasantha respectively, has been crooned by SidVoc and Bhuvana Ananth.
The movie is set against the backdrop of politics with Sethupathi playing an ambitious politician in it. The song has lyrics which goes well with the genre and the BTS videos in it which feature the actor shaking a leg to the song is a treat to watch. Veteran choreographer Raju Sundaram's presence in the video reminds movie buffs of En Veetula Na Irunthene song from Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara, in which the duo's hilarious dance moves brought the house down.
The songs from the movie had high expectations riding on it, thanks to the collaboration between Sethupathi and composer Govind, who first teamed up for the blockbuster film 96, which had chartbuster songs. They later joined hands again for Seethakathi and Edhiri, the segment directed by Bejoy Nambiar from Netflix's Navarasa. The makers had earlier released the lyric video of Annathe Sethi a year ago and Kaami Kaami recently from the film.
Tughlaq Durbar, which marks the reunion of Vijay Sethupathi and Parthiban after Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, also stars Raashi Khanna, Manjima Mohan, Karunakaran and Bagavathi Perumal in pivotal roles. Manoj Paramahamsa and Mahendiran Jayaraju have handled cinematography while R Govindaraj is in charge of editing the movie, which is produced by SS Lalit Kumar under Seven Screen Studio. Though the makers were keen to have a theatrical release for the film last year, they had to postpone their plans owing to the second wave of COVID-19. The movie's trailer will be released on August 31.
