Arjun, Abhirami and Preity Mukhundan to star in new family entertainer; Ravi Basrur to compose

A new Tamil film is in the making starring actors Arjun and Abhirami in the lead roles, the makers of the film announced on social media on Wednesday. The film will also feature Preity Mukhundan and is directed by a debutant. Keep reading to know more information on the project.

Arjun and Abhirami team up

On Wednesday, a new Tamil film was announced with the cast comprising of actors Arjun, Abhirami and Preity Mukhundan. The yet to be titled project was officially launched on Wednesday, with the cast and crew in attendance.

The upcoming film will have Arjun, famously known as Action King Arjun and Abhirami who was recently seen in Thug Life play the lead roles, while Preity Mukhundan who was seen in Kanappa also part of the cast. Helmed by Subash Raj in his directorial debut, Ravi Basrur is scoring the music. He has worked in films like KGF franchise, Marco and Salaar.

The film's technical crew includes Arun Radhakrishnan cranking the camera and Pradeep E Ragav handling the edits. Actors Vivek Prasanna, John Kokken, Arjun Chidambaram, Pawan, Dileepan, Vinod Sagar and Bala Hasan, and others are also part of the cast. It is to be noted that Arjun and Abhirami had earlier worked in the 2000 Tamil film Vaanavil which marked the foray into Tamil cinema for the latter. It is available for streaming on OTTplay Premium. The upcoming film is expected to be a family entertainer.

Arjun makes his directorial comeback

Arjun, who was last seen in Tamil film Aghathiyaa, will be making his directorial comeback with Seetha Payanam. The film stars his daughter and actor Aishwarya and Niranjan Sudhindra, nephew of actor Upendra. Actors Sathyaraj, Prakash Raj, Sumithra, Kovai Sarala, among others, are also part of the cast. A release date for Seetha Payanam is yet to be announced.
