The trailer of Hari's Yaanai, starring Arun Vijay in the lead, was released on May 30 at an event which was attended by the film's cast and crew. Speaking at the do, Arun recollected his experiences of having worked for the movie, despite facing a few challenges. He also spoke about his first collaboration with Hari, who happens to be his brother-in-law.

Arun said, "A movie with Hari sir has been a dream; I'm happy that it has happened at the right time. The film has aptly been titled Yaanai. It denotes a person who is strong in every aspect."

According to Arun, the biggest challenge was to pull off action sequences for the project. He said that he had to resort to painkillers whenever he got injured. "There were instances where I had to shoot action scenes continuously for 15 days. Uttering hard-hitting dialogues in Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi was another major challenge for me as I would find it difficult to understand the meaning of a few words," he said.

Yaanai marks his return to rural subjects after a long time. Though the film reminds of other movies of Hari in terms of its pattern, Arun noted that the director has made slight changes in terms of storytelling.

Arun went on to add that the protagonist's role he essayed in the film will stay close to him because of its emotional depth. "There were times I forgot myself, thanks to the manner in which the character has been written. I could emotionally connect with it instantly," he said.

All praise for his co-actors, Arun said that the performances of artists will be one of the highlights of Yaanai. He also thanked cinematographer Gopi for the impressive visuals and music composer GV Prakash for the effective re-recording.
