Sarov Shanmugam's Oh My Dog is set for a release on Amazon Prime Video on April 21. The feel-good drama stars Arun Vijay, his son Arnav Vijay, Mahima Nambiar, Vijaykumar and Vinay Rai among others in pivotal roles. The makers had unveiled the film's trailer recently which provided a glimpse into its story.

The movie's plot revolves around Arjun, a kid and his pet dog Simba. How they develop a bond despite the kid's parents asking him to stay away from the dog forms the rest of the story. Arun Vijay and Sarov said that it was quite an interesting experience to have worked with several dogs for the movie.

According to Arun Vijay, working with more than 100 dogs was really challenging, though he had great fun spending time with them. He said that Sarov, along with Raja, the trainer, ensured that the crew had a flawless experience on set. Arun also added that he has pinned high hopes on the project.

Sarov said, “We had three dogs with us initially and trained them properly. Later, we bought a six-year old puppy as well. The challenge was to match their timing. But Raja's suggestions were helpful and eventually, we could pull it off." Sarov added that he encouraged Raja to make the dogs flexible in different ways as the movie has sports as a crucial element in it.

According to him, the highlight of the film is the manner in which Arjun and Simba face obstacles together and impress everyone with their unconditional love for each other.

Oh My Dog is bankrolled by Jyotika and Suriya under 2D Entertainment. Nivas Prasanna has composed music for the film which has cinematography by Gopinath. The movie will be released in Tamil and Telugu.
