A couple of days ago, team Ponniyin Selvan announced that they are coming up with promos for the film with a short motion poster which mentioned 'The Cholas are coming'. They released a new poster yesterday featuring Vikram as Aditya Karikalan with the caption "Chola Crown Prince! The Fierce Warrior. The Wild Tiger".
Fans of the actor and other film lovers started celebrating the poster on social media as they felt its quality was much better than the posters which were released by the crew a few months ago. They were all praise for the star's flawless physique and intense look as well.
Meanwhile, a few of his hardcore fans unearthed an old photo of his during his modeling days. It has the actor seen sporting an outfit resembling a king's appearance, with a crown on his head and a sword attached to the hilt. Interestingly, the picture is from the advertisement of a tea powder which was popular two decades ago.
Twitterati went gaga over Vikram's achievement over the years and his unflinching determination which helped him become what he's today. The versatile actor's presence is easily one of the biggest attractions of Ponniyin Selvan. His performance in intense emotional sequences and action scenes are two reasons among the many which film lovers are looking forward to watching in the movie.
Ponniyin Selvan marks Vikram's second collaboration with Mani Ratnam after Raavanan. Interestingly, Aishwarya Rai, who played one of the leads in the 2009 movie, is also essaying a crucial character in the upcoming project.
Vikram, who was last seen in Mahaan which had a direct release on Amazon Prime Video, has Cobra coming up next. The action thriller directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu will be released on August 11, around 50 days before Ponniyin Selvan.
