Director Sudha Kongara is awaiting the release of her next directorial Parasakthi, a period political drama starring actor Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. The film is set in the 1960s and talks about the anti-Hindi agitations in India. However, Parasakthi is currently facing censor delays, making its release plans in trouble. However, in an interview recently, Sudha Kongara had good words to share about the censor authorities.

Filmmaker Sudha Kongara’s next film Parasakthi is slated for theatrical release on January 10. The film is headlined by Sivakarthikeyan and is set in the year 1965. It talks about the anti-Hindi agitations and protests that happened in Tamil Nadu.
In an interview with Galatta Plus, Sudha said, “Even with the censor board, when we went to the revising committee, there was this censor board head who was so democratic and so fair. One tends to think that the Censor Board is terrible, this and that. But they were not really. The questions and reservations they had were pretty fair. The way they allowed the film to live and breathe is very fair, because he is a filmmaker himself.” The filmmaker also added that she thanked them for being democratic.

Parasakthi is yet to get a censor certificate from the makers, and only then it can hit theatres as planned on January 10. With only one more day to go, the team is yet to officially announce the censor and release confirmation. It is expected that Parasakthi will release U/A. Meanwhile another Tamil film, Jana Nayagan, had to be postponed after it failed to secure censor certificate on time.
