Ashok Selvan hits back at Keerthi Pandian's trolls in style, old video on colourism surfaces on the internet

Ashok Selvan and Keerthi Pandian, who recently shared screen space in Pa Ranjith's production Blue Star, recently tied the knot in a traditional ceremony in Tirunelveli. Wishes have been pouring for the young couple from fans and film fraternity across the world. Meanwhile, a section of social media users have been commenting on Keerthi Pandian's complexion and how 'they are not the right match for each other'.

Ashok Selvan hits back at trolls in style
Ashok Selvan slammed the trolls who took a dig at his wife's looks with an adorable, but at the same time, a powerful post. Dropping a series of pictures on his social media handle, Ashok Selvan wrote, "With the most beautiful woman in the world #AshoKee (sic)." This statement has come as a strong reply to trolls.

Meanwhile, an old video of Ashol Selvan speaking about his thoughts on colourism has surfaced on social media. In the video, the anchor is seen talking about Ashok Selvan's fair complexion and equating the same to beauty. To which Ashok Selvan responds that being fair is only a type of complexion. "The notion that being fair is beautiful and being dark is not is very wrong. These notions have been thrusted upon by cosmetic industries. It is the outcome of the slavery mindset during the British reign when we used to address fair-complexioned people as 'dhorai'."

The anchor also compared his looks with that of Dhanush and Vijay Sethupathi, whom she deemed as boy-next-door. "To me, both Dhanush and Vijay Sethupathi sir are handsome. Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder."

Ashok Selvan and Keerthi gear up for their maiden film together
The duo is being lauded for getting married in the traditional Tamil style.  The wedding reception was held in Chennai for which the who's who of the industry were in attendance. It is to be noted that Ashok and Keerthi are all set to be seen on screen in the film, Blue Star. The film is written and directed by debutant S Jayakumar, a former assistant to Pa Ranjith. Ashok Selvan has teamed up with Shanthnu Bhagyaraj,Prithvi Pandiarajan, and Divya Duraisamy in the film, which is a sports drama about cricket.
