Asif Ali and Antony Varghese are gearing up for their first ever direct-to-OTT release with Jis Joy’s upcoming thriller Innale Vare. The movie, which has Nimisha Sajayan and Reba Monica John as its female protagonists, is based on a story by Bobby and Sanjay duo.

Sunday Holiday and Vijay Superum Pournamiyum director Jis had exclusively told OTTplay that the movie will be an OTT release back in March. Now, the makers have finalised the platform and its release date.

The movie, which has no songs was always made for an OTT release, and with the line-up for theatrical release getting longer by the week, the makers had started negotiations with OTT platforms earlier this year. Jis said that the next available slot for release of the film, back in March, was only in July and that’s the prime reason they had decided to release the film directly on a streaming platform.

Innale Vare, which has no songs, is now set to release on June 9 on Sony LIV. This will the third movie that has story by Bobby and Sanjay to hit the platform after Tovino Thomas’ Kaanekkaane last year and Dulquer Salmaan’s Salute in March 2022.

Incidentally, the story of Innale Vare originated from a phone call by Kunchacko Boban, Jis had earlier told us. “It was an unexpected call,” he said, adding that he shared the idea with Sanjay who then developed it into a story.

Asif Ali plays an actor in the movie, while Antony will be seen as a technician and Nimisha as an employee of Infopark. Jis, however, told us that Asif’s character is not based on Kunchacko Boban as the story is based on an incident that happened to the Nayattu star’s friend. Asif and Kunchacko, meanwhile, will be teaming up for Jude Anthany Joseph’s next that is set to go on floors in June.
