Aspirants, helmed by Apoorv Singh Karki, was released in 2021. It was one of the most loved series on YouTube. Recently, OTTplay caught up with team Aspirants 2 for an exclusive chat. During our conversation, Naveen Kasturia revealed he and Sunny Hinduja felt SK's character was 'thoda sa halka' on paper. However, they were surprised by the way Abhilash Thapliyal played the role on screen.
Naveen Kasturia talks about SK's character
Speaking with OTTplay, Naveen recalled the discussion he had with Sunny about all characters of Aspirants season one.
The actor said, "Since I and Sunny used to stay in the same hotel, we used to chat a lot during season one. Whenever we used to discuss the script, we thought all characters were well-written and everyone would get a chance to shine."

Kasturia further mentioned, "But there was one character that we felt was thoda sa halka. We wondered how it would shine. I am talking about SK's character. I and Sunny would discuss that maybe ye character kam likha hua hain (less written). But the way it was played (by Abhilash), SK became the most loved character from the show. We were all surprised."
Spin-off on SK's character
SK turned out to be one of the most important characters of Aspirants. In fact, the makers went on to release a spin-off on Abhilash's role. It was titled SK Sir Ki Class. The series was released on TVF's YouTube channel earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the second season of Aspirants is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The initial reactions to the web show are decent. Apoorv Singh Karki directed the second season of this web show as well. The new part delves deeper into the lives of Abhilash, Guri, SK, Dhairya, and Sandeep Bhaiya.
