Atrangi Re: Dhanush on working with Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and ‘coming back home’ with Aanand L Rai

Dhanush’s most recent team up with director Aanand L Rai, Atrangi Re, is gearing up for its release soon enough. The actor recently shared his experience working on the film, as well as working with his co-stars Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan.

In conversation with Pinkvilla, the National Film Award winning actor described the upcoming film as a demanding one to make. He described it as something which required a lot of effort from the part of the cast and crew. But in the end, the actor says the work paid off as they were able to pull off the film as they had envisioned it. The actor also added that despite the work, he had a good time during filming.

Dhanush also talked about the deep rapport he had with director Aanand and while comparing the experience of working with him again, Dhanush said it was like ‘coming back home’. The South Indian star had made his Bollywood debut in the director’s 2013 film, Raanjhanaa, also helmed by Aanand L. Rai. The actor also talked of how the two had an unspoken understanding between them.

And of course, Dhanush had good things to say about his co-stars Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan too. The star talked about how he not only enjoyed working with Akshay but also that he could learn a lot from the seasoned actor. Dhanush also alluded to Akshay’s several qualities he admired, including his honesty and punctuality.

Dhanush also echoed a similar sentiment about Sara, calling her a hard worker and how he had enjoyed working with her.
