As per a new report on Pinkvilla, Disha Patani has been roped in as the female lead for Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2. Confirming the same, the source mentioned, "Emraan Hashmi will be playing Shivam Pandit, whereas details of Disha's character have been kept under wraps," adding, "Disha was bowled over by the emotional arc in the script, and it was an instant yes from her end to come on board."

Nitin Kakar has replaced Mohit Suri as the director for Awarapan 2. The movie, like the original film, is also based around the gangster world. While focusing on the music, the makers hope to take the romance and emotions 2x of the original film. In fact, the team is currently working on the music of the film, with the movie set to roll out in September-early October. It is expected to wrap up by January and release by Summer 2026.
