The latest Malayalam thriller Azadi, starring Sreenath Bhasi, is now headed to the digital space after its lacklustre theatrical run. The film, which was released in theatres on May 23, is set to make its OTT premiere on Manorama Max in June 2025. Here’s everything you need to know about Sreenath Bhasi’s Malayalam film, touted to be a medical thriller, before its OTT release.
Azadi is a 2025 Malayalam film, which stars Sreenath Bhasi along with Vani Viswanath and Lal in other key roles. The thriller film is set to make its digital debut on Manorama Max on June 27, 2025, a month after its theatrical release, the platform has announced on social media. Like other Malayalam films on the platform, Azadi is likely to be available on Manorama Max only in its original language with English subtitles.

Jo George has directed this film, which has a screenplay by Sagar. Azadi was released in theatres along with Dhyan Sreenivasan's Detective Ujjwalan and Tovino Thomas-led Narivetta in May but hardly gave any competition for the other two Malayalam films that recorded better box office figures. Interestingly, the makers of Azadi were able to lock its OTT partner before its theatrical release, which is not a common trend in Malayalam cinema. Very few Malayalam films, such as Mohanlal-starrer Thudarum, were able to ensure digital platforms prior ot their release.
Sreenath Bhasi stars as Raghu, whose pregnant wife is imprisoned for allegedly murdering the son of a political leader. When she gets admitted to the Kottayam medical college hospital for her delivery, Raghu comes up with a daring plan to rescue her. However, their past returns to haunt them as their foes too turn up at the hospital and now they have to fight for their survival.
Raveena Ravi is seen as the pregnant wife, Ganga. Vani Viswanath, who was once known for her cop roles, is back as a police officer in Azadi. Lal, Saiju Kurup and Maala Parvathi are also part of the film.
