A week ahead of its theatrical release, the upcoming Malayalam film Azadi has locked OTT platform. It has been revealed that the medical thriller will be streaming on Manorama Max following its theatrical run.

The makers of Azadi made a considerable effort to decide on their digital streaming platform before it was released. Many Malayalam films have not yet had their digital debut because of a current trend in which OTT platforms are opting to acquire these films until after they have been released and screened in theatres. Only a few films, like Officer on Duty and Thudarum, were able to confirm their online streaming platforms before they were released.

It is safe to assume that Azadi will be accessible on Manorama Max a month after its big screen debut. The thriller, which stars Sreenath Bhasi in the lead role, will hit theatres on May 23.

Azadi is touted to be a jail-break thriller

A hospital serves as the setting for the drama of survival and retribution in Azadi, according to the trailer. Lal appears to be a father pursuing justice for his daughter, while renowned voice artiste Raveena plays an expectant mother who is behind bars for murdering a political leader's son in his own house. Sreenath Bhasi portrays an intense figure who seeks revenge. As a police officer, Vani Viswanath also has a big role in this thriller. The actress is well-known for her strong performances in films including The King and Black Daliya.

This film, which also features Saiju Kurup in a key part, marks Jo George's directorial debut. Among Azadi's supporting characters are Vijayakumar, Mala Parvathi, Gilu Joseph, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, TG Ravi, Rajesh Sharma, Asha Madathil, Shobi Thilakan, Boban Samuel, Abin Bino, and Sabu Praudeen. Director Sagar wrote the screenplay for the thriller. His prior films include Dhyan Sreenivasan-starrers Veekam and Sathyam Mathrame Bodhippikku. Faizal Raja has bankrolled this movie under the banner of Little Crew Production.
