Azadi, the latest Malayalam film starring Sreenath Bhasi in the lead role, has made its OTT debut. Helmed by Jo George, the thriller film is available for streaming on two platforms. Manorama Max brings you Azadi in its original Malayalam version, while Sun NXT (OTTplay Premium) is streaming the film in Tamil.
The Malayalam thriller Azadi, which hit in theatres on May 23, 2025, has made its OTT premiere on June 27, a month after its theatrical release. Manorama Max had secured the digital rights of the Sreenath Bhasi-led film in advance and announced the OTT release date earlier itself. This comes as a pleasant surprise, as most Malayalam films confirm their OTT partners only after their theatrical debut. In addition to Manorama Max, the film is also streaming on Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium with Tamil audio.
Azadi, which revolves around a thrilling tale of an accused woman trying to escape the law, did win positive feedback but did not attract the footfalls in large numbers. With the film streaming in two platforms, it is expected that Azadi could reach out to a larger audience, across languages.
Azadi narrates the gripping tale of a pregnant woman, who has been imprisoned, and how her husband plot her escape when she gets admitted to the Kottayam hospital for the delivery. The plot gets more complicated as their enemies from the past too turns up at the hospital.
Raveena plays the pregnant woman Ganga, while Sreenath Bhasi stars as Raghu. Notable actors such as Lal and Saiju Kurup are also part of the cast, along with Vani Viswanath, who is seen as an IPS officer.
The quirky family film Pariwar, led by Indrans, Jagadish and Alexander Prasanth, landed on Prime Video earlier this week. Prince and Family, starring Dileep, and Alappuzha Gymkhana, led by Naslen and other young stars, have also made their streaming debuts. Both the films are available on OTTplay Premium.
