Azadi release date: Sreenath Bhasi's medical thriller to hit the big screen with Detective Ujjwalan

The upcoming Malayalam movie Azadi's producers have revealed that its theatrical premiere has been postponed. On May 23, the medical thriller, which stars Sreenath Bhasi in the lead role, will be released in theatres.
Azadi new release date
The film will now debut a week later than its initial release date of May 16. It is safe to assume that the postponement is due to the release of Tovino Thomas' Narivetta on the same date. But with the revised release date, Azadi will have to compete with Detective Ujjwalan, starring Dhyan Sreenivasan. On the same day, Ranjith Sajeev's United Kingdom of Kerala will also be released.
The trailer suggests that Azadi is a story of vengeance and survival that takes place against the backdrop of a hospital. While Raveena portrays an expectant mother imprisoned for killing a political leader's son in his own home, Lal seems to be a father seeking justice for his daughter. Sreenath Bhasi plays a tough character who is also looking for revenge. His most recent appearance was in the acclaimed Malayalam film Manjummel Boys, which is streaming on JioHotstar.
In this thriller, Vani Viswanath also plays a significant part as a police officer. The actress, who made her comeback with Dileesh Pothan-starrer Rifle Club recently, is renowned for her power-packed performances in films like Black Daliya, Independence, and The King.

Jo George is marking his directorial debut with this film, which also stars Lal, Saiju Kurup, and Raveena Ravi in pivotal roles. The movie is produced by Faizal Raja under the banner of Little Crew Production. Vijayakumar, Mala Parvathi, Gilu Joseph, TG Ravi, Rajesh Sharma, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Asha Madathil, Shobi Thilakan, Boban Samuel, Abin Bino, Sabu Praudeen, Thushara and Ashkar Ameer are among the supporting cast of Azadi. The thriller's screenplay was penned by renowned director Sagar. Veekam, Kanakarajyam and Sathyam Mathrame Bodhippikku are some of his previous films.
