The announcement of Naai Sekar, starring Sathish in the lead, evoked curiousity among Tamil movie buffs because of its title. The name 'Naai Sekar' was a popular character Vadivelu played in Suraj's Thalai Nagaram. The director was planning a film with Vadivelu for the latter's comeback recently with the character's name as its title. However, AGS Productions announcing the title for their movie directed by Kishore Rajkumar was a rude shock to Suraj and Vadivelu.
Later, they titled their film as Naai Sekar Returns, the first look of which was released recently. The post production of Naai Sekar is going on in full swing. Its composer Ajesh took to Twitter to provide a sneak peek into a song recording of the film. Baba Sehgal has lent his voice for a peppy track and the music director posted a picture of himself along with the veteran singer.
Ajesh tweeted, "Super fun track from Naai Sekar on its way! @OnlyBabaSehgal taking it to the next level! #NaaiSekar." In his reply, Baba said that he loved singing for the rocking track under Ajesh's composition. He tweeted, "It’s a rocking track and loved singing on your composition." An elated Ajesh thanked Baba and said he would love to collaborate more with Baba.
Baba last crooned for a Tamil song in Singam 2, under Devi Sri Prasad's composition eight years ago. He had also lent voice in the film's sequel, Singam. Though he was away from singing in Tamil for a while, he had another connect with Kollywood. His last association with the Tamil film industry was the negative role he played in Gautham Menon's Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada.
