It's Varun Dhawan's birthday today (April 24), and the actor has turned 37 this year. On the work front, the actor is gearing up to flaunt his action-packed avatar in the upcoming film, Baby John. Therefore, it's not unexpected that the film will unveil an update today. The makers of Baby John have shared a new poster featuring the handsome hunk.

The poster features Varun, clad in a black mundu and shirtless, exuding a menacing demeanour as he soaks up the rain. In the backdrop of a gloomy night, we can see a few men who are ready to engage in a fist fight with the actor, who is also preparing for the fight.

The Hindi remake of Atlee's blockbuster Theri
For the uninitiated, Baby John is a forthcoming action-drama that is reportedly the Hindi remake of the Atlee blockbuster, Theri (2016). The filmmaker co-produces the film, which stars Sanya Malhotra (rumoured), Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh (in her Hindi debut), and Varun Dhawan in the lead roles. Kalees wrote the screenplay and directed the film.
In the film, Baby John, a former police officer, pretends to die and hides away so he can bring his daughter up in peace. But things go wrong when his old adversaries start plotting against him, and he has no choice but to face his history if he wants to keep his daughter safe.
Star-studded ensemble for Baby John
Keerthy Suresh will portray Samantha Ruth Prabhu's role in Theri, while Wamiqa Gabbi will be seen in the character played by Amy Jackson. Jackie Shroff will play the film's antagonist, played originally by the late actor Mahendran. The makers roped in Rajpal Yadav, Sheeba Chaddha, and Sanya Malhotra to play significant roles. Reports suggest that Sanya will make a special cameo as Varun's potential bride, Sunaina, and Rajpal will portray his father.
The rumoured release date for the film is May 31, 2024. However, the makers have mentioned "coming soon" in the latest poster.
