Himesh Reshammiya's highly-awaited film, Badass Ravi Kumar hit theatres on February 7, 2025, and it went on to perform well at the box office. The film grabbed everyone's attention for its no-brainer spoofy format, masaledaar one-liners, and peppy songs. The film also featured Kirti Kulhari, Sanjay Mishra, Prabhu Deva, Sunny Leone, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Johnny Lever in key roles. It is a musical action film that is a spin-off of the 2014 film The Xposé. Recently, in an interview, Kirti opened up about working with Himesh and revealed why she agreed to do the film in the first place. She went on to reveal how Himesh rejected her input when she suggested changes in dialogues during a scene.

What made Kirti Kulhari say yes to Badass Ravi Kumar?

While speaking to News 18 Showsha, the actress admitted that a lot of people were shocked to see her in the Badass Ravi Kumar trailer. Not only that, she herself was shocked when she was offered to be a part of the film. In the interview, Kirti revealed that Himesh kept a condition before she came on board. She said, "Himesh and I exist in parallel worlds. How can they ever meet? I remember there were a few dialogues and I wanted to improve them, add something to them, remove something or say them differently, and he told me no. It was almost like take it or leave it but this is what it is. He made it clear that if I say yes to the film, I’ll have to do things his way or not do the film at all. That was the moment that I knew I’ll do the film."

Kirti Kulhari was impressed by Himesh Reshammiya's clarity

Further, she said that she wasn't offended by Himesh's rejection. In fact, she was happy and impressed by his clarity and conviction. The actress added, "He was like, ‘Don’t mess with what we have. This is what it is.’ I wasn’t offended. I was happy that here’s somebody who knows what he’s doing."

Despite getting heavily trolled on social media, Himesh's film made a solid impression at the box office. It managed to collect Rs 8.34 crore at the Indian box office while it garnered Rs 10.94 crore worldwide.
