After a few delays, Adhik Ravichandran's Bagheera, starring Prabhu Deva in the lead, hit the screens today. The director turned emotional while tweeting about the film's release today and informed that this would be his last adult movie. The film, which is billed as a thriller, has opened to below average reviews.

It features half-a-dozen female leads, including Amyra Dastur, Gayathrie Shankar, Sanchita Shetty, Sakshi Agarwal, Janani and Ramya Nambeesan. Nasser, Saikumar and Sonia Agarwal are others who essay important characters in the project.

Silambarasan, who played the lead in Adhik's previous outing Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan, has extended wishes to the movie and crew members. Film lovers found an interesting connection between Silambarasan and the theme of this film. His two decade-old Manmadhan shares a similar story with Bagheera.

Both the movies have its protagonist taking revenge on women who destroyed the lives of innocent men who trusted them blindly. Fans are looking forward to knowing if the project would satisfy its target audience and go on to attain a cult status like Manmadhan, one of the biggest hits in Silambarasan's career. However, the initial reviews of Bagheera, which has been lying in the cans for a while, aren't encouraging.

Adhik commenced shooting of his next, the pan Indian film Mark Antony, some time ago. The action thriller, starring Vishal in the lead, is likely to hit the screens this year. The movie was in the news recently when a truck lost control and rammed into the shooting spot, leaving crew members stunned.

Though no one was injured, Vishal and SJ Suryah, who were part of the shooting, extended thanks to the Almighty for saving them from a huge mishap. A short video from the location featuring the truck moving towards the actors had gone viral in no time.
