Director Balaji Mohan who directed one of the five segments of the anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa, which started streaming on Amazon Prime Video a week ago, has now started the works of a Tamil web series. He is bankrolling the untitled project under his production house Open Window, along with Trend Loud India Digital.

Billed as an urban comedy-drama, the series stars Prasanna, SPB Charan, Dhanya Balakrishna, Kaniha and Bigg Boss Tamil fame Suresh Chakravarthy among others playing important characters. Debutant Vignesh Vijaykumar, a former associate director of Balaji, is helming the series which went on floors recently.

The makers released a few pictures from the set featuring the director and actors participating in the official launching ceremony of the series. It is said that the series which will be shot in and around Chennai will be wrapped up by the end of next month. They are yet to announce the OTT platform on which the project will be streaming.

Shiva GRN is cranking the camera for the series which has music being composed by Bharath Sankar and editing being handled by by Julian. Sreeraman E is monitoring the art direction while Dhanya Balakrishna is also a part of the project's creative production team.

The actress was last seen in Tamil in the recently released Vidaarth-starrer Carbon. Dhanya and Balaji had earlier teamed up for As I'm Suffering From Kadhal which had a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar in 2017. The rom-com was one of the first popular web series in Tamil. 

Apart from playing one of the lead roles, Dhanya was also the executive producer of the series along with Balaji then. Shiva was the cinematographer for As I'm Suffering From Kadhal, too. Prasanna has earlier been part of web series like Thiravam (streaming on Zee5), Addham (streaming on Aha) and Navarasa (streaming on Netflix).
