Lagerfeld's long and illustrious career, full of passion and hard work, is showcased in the 6-part mini-series, along with his personal struggles, relationships, and the true reflection of Karl in the mirror before turning in at night.

Becoming Karl Lagerfeld has also released a teaser as well as the show’s plot to further tantalise the audience. The biographical limited series is set in the 1970s and traces Karl’s journey before becoming known for being a Lagerfeld. From revealing the glamorous designers and artists he rubbed shoulders with to exploring who Karl is when alone, the series will offer an unseen view of the man underneath the label.
The series will chart Lagerfeld’s encounter with his long-time romantic partner, the ambitious, troublesome, exciting and dandy Jacques des Bascher, as well as his frenemy bond with the fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent. As Laurent was backed by businessman Pierre Bergé while working at House of Chanel, Lagerfeld had to struggle and suffer multiple setbacks before making it big.
With Daniel Brühl essaying Lagerfeld, the series plunges viewers into the glamorous heart of Paris, Monaco, and Rome in the ‘70s, when Parisian couture was having its renaissance. Determined to be the emperor of fashion, Lagerfeld embarks on a journey of grandiose parties and glittery fashion shows in his usual reserved yet eye-catching manner, ready to play the long game.
