Venkat Prabhu, today, announced his next, Nanban Oruvan Vantha Piragu (NOVP). The film, directed by debutant Ananth, stars Bhavani Sre, RJ Vijay and Monica. Calling it a Venkat Prabhu gift, the director said that he will be presenting the film.

Introducing the team to the audience, he wrote on his social media handle, "Nanban oruvan vantha piragu Your “Tomorrows” will be perfect. So happy to present #NOVP #aVPgift Written & Directed & Performed by @ActorAnanth Produced by @Aishwarya12dec @masala_popcorn @studios_white (sic)." He also quoted a line about friendship, from a song from his film, Chennai 600028.

The film's director Ananth was seen in Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi's Meesaya Murukku. Nanban Oruvan Vandha Piragu is said to be a coming-of-age drama about a bunch of friends. Music for the film is by AH Kaashif. The film has been lying in the cans for a while now and with Venkat Prabhu taking it under his mantle, has given the film a new lease of life.

Venkat Prabhu was last seen in a cameo in MS Dhoni's maiden film production, LGM. The actor played Harish Kalyan's boss in it.

On the directorial front, Venkat Prabhu is busy with the pre-production work of his maiden venture with Vijay, which is tentatively being referred to as Thalapathy 68. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Venkat Prabhu had dropped a short announcement about the film, with a short video. He captioned it, "Dreams do come true  God is kind #Thalapathy68 (sic)." The film is bankrolled by AGS Entertainment.

Vijay has just wrapped the shoot of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo. Lokesh Kanagaraj called the experience a special one. He captioned the picture, "And it's a wrap for our @actorvijay portion! Thank you for making the second outing yet again a special one na! #Leo (sic)."

The film has Vijay teaming up with Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, Mysskin, Sandy Master, Joju George, Babu Antony, Priya Anand and Mathew Thomas to name a few. The team had dropped the look of Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt yesterday on the occasion of his birthday, which set the internet on fire in no time.
