The spin-off series Berlin from Money Heist will be back for season two on Netflix. The streamer said on Monday that Pedro Alonso's renowned character would be returning with a fresh heist and plenty of love. According to reports, Season 2 of Berlin will see the return of the original cast. The cast includes Michelle Jenner (Isabel), Tristán Ulloa (Fariña), Cameron (Begoña Vargas), Roi (Julio Peña Fernández), and Bruce (José Sánchez), who are irrepressible.

Plot details and Season 2 speculations

The official page of La Casa de Papel also shared a video of Alonso announcing the second season with a caption stating, "Level two, please. Berlin on Netflix will be back for a second season."

Check it out below:

The fact that Berlin and his crew pulled off the jewel heist at the conclusion of season 1 and immediately began plotting another big job is hardly surprising, given his skill as a thief. This might have set the stage for the show to follow a different robbery each season. Details about the heist in season 2 are still sketchy, but there were a number of romantic subplots in season 1 that could serve as springboards for plots in season 2. Season 2 of Berlin may see Damián, Berlin's right-hand man, encounter relationship problems that could derail the crew's plans, despite the relatively pleasant ending to Berlin's relationship with Camille.

Global success and viewer statistics

Berlin was the most-watched series globally during its opening week and reached the top 10 in 91 countries, according to Netflix. With 348 million hours and 53 million total views, it has maintained its position in the top ten on non-English TV for seven weeks in a row since then. According to Netflix, the show has become the ninth-most-watched non-English language series of all time.

Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato will script the second season of Berlin, starting production in 2025.

Vancouver Media, Pina's TV production company, is now producing El refugio atómico (The Fallout Shelter) for Netflix and will release this show. Set in a luxury bunker just as World War III is about to break out, the drama series follows a group of multimillionaires as they seek sanctuary.

Legacy of Money Heist

From its debut on the regional network Antena 3 to its subsequent streaming on Netflix, Money Heist spanned three seasons and five parts. It was one of the most watched foreign titles on Netflix until it concluded in 2021.
