2023 has been a glorious year for the digital space, with some extremely well-made shows and films getting released across all the platforms. Amazon Prime Video, which is one of the most loved platforms in the world, entertained its audience with some well-made shows across the languages.

1. Jubilee


The period drama series which was created by Vikramaditya Motwane, featured a stellar star cast including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aparshakti Khurana, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sidhant Gupta, Nandish Sandhu, Wamiqa Gabbi and others in the key roles. Jubilee, loosely based on the rise and fall of the legendary studio, is unarguably one of the best series released on Amazon Prime Video, in 2023.

2. Dahaad

This crime thriller, which was created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, earned immense love from the audiences with its stellar performances and excellent making. Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah played the lead roles in Dahaad, which is based on the life of Cyanide Mohan, a serial killer. The Amazon Prime Video has shown excellent reviews after its release and has been considered one of the finest series to ever come on Indian digital space.

3. Farzi

Shahid Kapoor made his OTT series debut with this black comedy thriller series created by Raj and DK. Along with Shahid, the acclaimed show features a stellar star cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, Raashii Khanna, and Bhuvan Arora. Farzi, which revolves around an artist named Sunny who teams up with his friend Firoz to make counterfeit money, equally impressed the audiences and critics with its stellar making and performances.

4. Gen V

This 2023-released superhero series, which is a spin-off to The Boys, received immense love from audiences across the globe. Gen V was created by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Kripke. The Amazon Prime Video show, which features a massive star cast including Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Philips, and others, revolves around the new batch of students that enter the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting.

5. Made In Heaven Season 2

The most-awaited Indian series of recent times, Made In Heaven Season 2 was released on Amazon Prime Video in 2023, after a long delay. Sobhita Dhulipala and Arjun Mathur returned to play the roles of Tara Khanna and Karan Mehra in the series while Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, Vijay Raaz, and others also returned to play their respective roles. Even though Season 2 couldn’t recreate the magic of the first season, it still emerged as one of the most-viewed Indian shows of 2023.

6. Permanent Roommates Season 3

This Sumeet Vyas-Nidhi Singh show, which is created by Arunabh Kumar returned to the screens with its third season, in 2023. The new season of this popular Amazon Prime Video series revolves around the young couple Mikesh and Tanya who finally got married, and are now dealing with a new set of issues from the wife’s career decisions and the husband’s moves to prevent it.

7. Dead Ringers

This American psychological mini-thriller series, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2023, has been loved by audiences and critics alike. The show is based on the lives of twin gynecologists named Beverly Mantle and Elliot Mantle, who are planning to start their birthing clinic. Britne Oldford, Poppy Liu, Jennifer Ehle, Michael Chernus, and others played pivotal roles in Dead Ringers.

8. Mumbai Diaries Season 2

The famous Amazon Prime series, returned to the screens with its well-made Season 2 in September, this year. Mohit Raina and Konkona Sen Sharma returned to play the roles of Dr. Kaushik Oberoi and Dr. Chitra Das in the series, which is set against the backdrop of the Maharashtra floods of 2005. Pramabrata Chattopadhyay and Riddhi Dogra, joined the Mumbai Diaries Season 2, as the new additions to the star cast. 

9. Dhootha

Naga Chaitanya made his OTT series debut with this Vikram Kumar directorial, which recently released on Amazon Prime Video. The supernatural thriller revolves around the life of journalist Sagar, who experiences strange incidents after he discovers some news clippings. Parvathy Thiruvothu, Prachi Desai, Pasupathy, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Ravindra Vijay, Jayaprakash, and others essay the pivotal roles in the series, which has been receiving great reviews from critics.

10. Kumari Srimathi

Nithya Menen appeared in the role of Srimathi, a middle-class young woman who tries to save her ancestral property in this Telugu drama series, which is helmed by Srinivas Avasarala. Gauthami, Thiruneer, Talluri Rameshwari, Nirupam Paritala, Praneeta Paknaik, and others essay the supporting roles in Kumari Srimathi, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video, in September, this year.
