Lyca Productions, which is gearing up for the release of Ponniyin Selvan 2 in April, announced yesterday that they will come up with an update today. Many film buffs were curious to know if it is going to be about AK 62, the much-awaited Ajith-starrer which the production house is bankrolling.

However, it was about a completely different project starring Arulnithi in the lead. Titled Thiruvin Kural, it has Bharathiraja playing a pivotal role while Aathmika is essaying the female lead in it. Harish Prabhu is at the helm and Sam CS has composed music for the movie.

The makers have also unveiled its first look poster which features a confused Arulnithi and a pleasant Bharathiraja. Sinto Poduthas is cranking the camera for the film which has editing by Ganesh Siva and art direction by E Thiyagarajan. Dhilip Subbarayan is choreographing action scenes along with Phantom Pradeep.

The team is expected to announce its release date later. Thiruvin Kural brings Bharathiraja and Arulnithi together for the first time and it marks Lyca Productions' 24th production venture. An announcement on the project's digital partner, too, is likely to be made soon.

Thiruvin Kural is set to be Arulnithi's first outing in 2023; the actor had three releases, D Block, Dejavu and Diary, in 2022. He has the most-anticipated sequel Demonte Colony 2, too, in his kitty. The horror flick being helmed by Ajay Gnanamuthu is expected to hit the screens later this year.

Bharathiraja, on the other hand, was last seen in Dhanush-starrer Thiruchitrambalam, in which his performance as an ailing father and a concerned grandfather, garnered widespread recognition.
