Bhediya OTT release: JioCinema sets digital premiere date for Varun Dhawan's horror-comedy

Bhediya, the much-awaited Bollywood movie featuring Varun Dhawan, is still not available for streaming, months after its theatrical release in November 2022. In a post-pandemic world, the movie business has had to adapt to changing realities, with streaming platforms becoming an increasingly important part of the movie-watching experience. This has left many people puzzled as to why the movie has not been made available on any streaming platform yet.

However, reports suggest that JioCinema, the streaming platform of Jio Studios, is gearing up to make the movie available for streaming later this month. While an official announcement is yet to be made, sources say that JioCinema has zeroed in on May 26 as the digital premiere date for Bhediya.

For JioCinema, this move is part of a broader strategy to gain a foothold in the crowded OTT space. The platform recently made waves by outbidding its competitors for the streaming rights to the ongoing IPL season, which it then offered for free to all users. As the IPL season comes to an end, JioCinema is looking to keep the momentum going by releasing highly anticipated movies like Bhediya and Vikram Vedha, which stars Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan.

Earlier, there were rumours that Bhediya would be available for streaming on April 21 , but this did not materialize disappointing Varun's fans. Let's hope that the viewers will not have to go through another letdown on May 26th.

Directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt, Bhediya is a horror-comedy that follows the adventures of an ordinary man who transforms into a werewolf after being bitten by a wolf. The movie also stars Kriti Sanon, Deepak Dobriyal, and Abhishek Banerjee, among others.
